Can people see through my solar screens at night?
Daytime privacy is real, but the effect reverses after dark — what to plan if evening privacy matters.
Can people see through my solar screens at night?
During the day, no — the sunlit outside face of the mesh reflects light and reads as a solid surface while you see out clearly, which is genuine one-way privacy. After dark the physics flips: if your patio lights are on and the yard is dark, your side is now the bright side, and the screen becomes more transparent from outside.
If evening privacy matters for your space, plan for it: keep patio lighting low and warm, zone the brightest fixtures away from the screen line, or ask about vinyl panels in the same track system for the openings that face neighbors. We would rather you know this before installation than discover it in August — it is the most common surprise in the category.
