1. Agreement
By using americanlight.design you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information you send us.
2. Our services
American Light Design designs, sells and professionally installs motorized screens, motorized awnings, pergolas, outdoor lighting and pool covers, and services what we install, for residential and commercial properties in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC. Nothing is sold through this website; it is for information and for requesting quotes and consultations.
3. Quotes, prices and financing
Every project is custom. Any figure given through this site, by email or over the phone is an estimate until we have measured the site and you have signed a written agreement, and that agreement — not this website — sets the price, scope, schedule and warranty for your project. Product descriptions, specifications and warranty summaries on this site come from the manufacturers and may change; the written warranty provided with your products governs. Financing is available subject to the lender’s approval and terms, which we discuss during your consultation.
4. Using this site
Use the site lawfully. Do not interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or submit false, misleading or someone else’s information. You must be at least 18 to request a quote or consultation.
5. Automated access
This site publishes structured data and machine-readable interfaces for search engines and AI agents. Automated access is welcome within the rules in robots.txt and our agent policy. An agent that submits a quote or consultation request must do so on behalf of a real person who asked it to.
6. Communications
When you send us your contact details, you agree that we may contact you about your request — by phone, text message or email — including project updates and service reminders. You can ask us to stop at any time; see the Privacy Policy.
7. Content and trademarks
The text, photographs, graphics and logos on this site belong to American Light Design or the people who licensed them to us, and may not be copied for commercial use without permission. Product and brand names such as MagnaTrack, V-Track, Sunbrella and Somfy belong to their owners and are used to describe the products we install.
8. The giveaway
The ALD Outdoor Living Giveaway is governed by its own Official Rules, Terms and Privacy Policy. Where they differ from these terms, they control for the giveaway.
9. Disclaimer
We work to keep this site accurate, but it is provided “as is.” Information on it is general and is not a substitute for an on-site assessment of your property.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, American Light Design is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website. This section does not limit our obligations under a signed agreement for your project or any right you have by law that cannot be waived.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
12. Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the site means you accept the version then posted.
